Access Statement - Tawny Owl Pod
We want to make everyone's stay as enjoyable as possible, and
would like to provide suitable access for all our guests.
Tanunda Pods is set in a rural location in the countryside. It is
set in approx. half acre of land with a recreational grass area
next to ‘Tawny Owl’ Pod, and a smaller grassy area
with pond - this is next to Red Squirrel Pod, this pond is not
fenced off so take care especially with children.
We are located 1.6 miles (5 mins in car) from Oban town centre
which has a range of shops, supermarkets and leisure facilities.
We are 1.8 miles away from Oban Railway Station. There are no
buses that come to our area however there are plenty of
taxi’s and a list can be found in the ‘Welcome
folder’ along with emergency contact numbers etc.
Out of our two Pods 'Tawny Owl' Pod is our accessible Pod which has level entry from patio with larger opening doors on both the main door and wet room door.
There is a double bed which is made up for your arrival. This has under bed storage for cases, bags etc.
A sofa bed which can be made up as a double bed if required for children.
There is an en suite wet room with shower, sink & wc.

Car Park
The entrance road leads into the rear of the Pods has been covered with tar planings and is level.
There is a car parking area beside the Pod. The entrance road and parking area have lighting on timer controls plus sensor lighting for when you get out of your car - these are all low energy lights. -
Entrance
There is a permanent ramp that is 1230mm wide with a low gradient leading up to the Pod.
The paving extends to a patio area of 30800mm x 8460mm.
Covered Porch 2920mm x 890mm with welly boot rack & umbrella stand.
The main entrance has level access - Entrance door is 900mm wide over a level threshold.
Heavy-duty laminate floor - perfect for wheelchairs and unsteady walkers. -
Bedroom
From the main entrance to the bedroom, there is level access.
The route to the bedroom is 800mm wide, or more.
The space between the bed and kitchen is 900mm.
The mattress is 1900mm long, 1370mm wide and the bed is set 680mm off of the ground (including the mattress height). We have non-allergic duvets and pillows

Wet Room
The door to the wet room is 900mm wide (760mm with doorframe).
The wet room dimensions are 2500mm x 1500mm.
The wet room has a level access shower.
The shower area has dimensions of 1500mm x 1200mm.
The shower controls are 1200mm above the ground.
The toilet seat is 430mm above the ground.
The sink in the wet room is 830mm above the ground with clear space underneath. -
Kitchen
The sink and the hob are 890mm from the ground.
Mixer taps with small levers in bathroom and kitchen.
The microwave is 1000mm from the ground.
Two sockets are 740mm of the ground, rest are just above kitchen work top & microwave.
Main light switches are 100mm off the ground.
Light switch above bed is 540mm.
Light switch above sofa (the seated area) is 900mm.
Sound system, usb ports & sockets are 800mm above sofa’s seated area.
